Richard and Janet Mathias have been farming together since their marriage in 1973. Originally they were dairy farmers, but with a keen eye for business opportunities Richard branched out in to rearing a suckler herd in 2000. Janet followed her love of baking for the family, and persuaded Richard to have the old cowshed and dairy converted to a Bakery. Janets passion for baking and her considerable skill has meant that in the last nine years Bakeway has gone from strength to strength. Bakeaway cakes have gained an awesome reputation in Pembrokeshire as some of the most beautiful cakes anyone has ever tasted. As well as the standard range of products which are listed below Janet can also produce cakes for any special occasion such as Weddings, Christenings and Birthdays. All of Bakeaway products are handmade (apart from the mixing) from local produce wherever possible and are suitable for home freezing. If you do intend to freeze one of Bakeaways cakes it would be as well to buy two because you wont be able to resist eating one of them!
