Carmarthenshire Cheese Company
The Carmarthenshire Cheese Company Ltd (Cwmni Caws Caerfyrddin Cyf) was founded in 2006 by co-owners Steve and Sian Elin Peace. In 2003 couple returned to Sian Elins native Carmarthenshire following 25 years each of senior experience in the UK dairy industry. Since returning, they have been running their own business support company, Datrys Solutions Cyf providing business and technology support to a range of new and established food and dairy companies in England and Wales. From their consultancy work, the couple spotted a gap in the market for a distinctive soft and speciality cheese business in Wales which led to the establishment of The Carmarthenshire Cheese Company which is currently at the Food Park, Horeb, Llandysul. All of their cheese is produced with local milk from the Carmarthenshire / Ceredigion border. This gives Steve and Sian Elin complete control over their most important raw material. The cheese is produced in a purpose designed and built unit and this has enabled them to be the first company in Wales to be awarded the SALSA technical accreditation standard. The gorgeous Pont Gar range of cheeses has won prizes at The World Cheese Awards (Best New Cheese – Blue and Best Welsh Cheese) and at the British Cheese Awards (Best Welsh Cheese). Their latest addition to the range is called Boksburg after Steve and Sian Elins house Boksburg Hall. It is going to be another award winning cheese and we strongly recommend you buy some and impress all your friends!
