Christine Evans is the driving force behind Homemade Country Preserves. She is a familiar site at Haverfordwest Farmers Market where you will see her manning a stand packed with jams, chutneys and preserves. These are made at home by her and her husband, one pan of chutney can take four to five hours just to cook, quite apart from the preparation beforehand. The business has been running for several years, and all started at a car boot sale. Christine raised nine children who would frequently go out and pick things from which she would make jams and chutneys. Christine saw an opportunity after a sell-out day for her pickled onions at a car-boot sale, and they have never looked back. They now attend seven Farmers Markets, and you may well see them at some food festivals too.
