Hazelwell Organic Farm is a 350 acre mixed organic farm overlooking the fertile Vale of Taf in Carmarthenshire. They have a 65 cow beef suckler herd and 250 ewes. They grow all their own cereals and forage. They also carry out a wide range of conservation work. Hazelwell Organic Farm produces top quality beef and lamb from healthy and contented animals managed in a sympathetic stress-free environment. It is produced to the highest standards of organic farming laid down by the Soil Association. This includes the avoidance of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, growth regulators, livestock feed additives and GM material. Animal welfare issues such as nutrition, housing, health breeding and rearing are also a high priority. Hazelwell animals are fed only on grass and cereals produced on the farm and the meat is hung for long enough to enhance its quality and flavour. The beef is produced by native breed bulls using traditional breeds selected for their tenderness and great eating quality.
